Likeother essential elements, its concentration must becontained within certain limits for optimum fun-ctioning. The relation between manganese intakeand well-being is probably in the form of an invertedU-shaped curve: at lower levels, manifestations ofmanganese deficiency occur, while high levels of Mnexposure are associatedwith neurologic and neurop-sychiatric disorders.
