Abstract

The neurosecretory system of millipede G. malayus has been described using PF and CHP techniques in whole mounts and sections. Three types of neurosecretory cells namely A, B and C have been observed distributed in definite regions of the brain and ganglia of ventral nerve cord. Neurosecretory products released from these cells, travel through definite pathways and ultimately are stored in the neurohaemal organs i.e. in the cerebral glands and connective bodies. Some cells directly release their neurosecretory materials in the adjacent neuropile masses.
