Abstract

Periodic acoustic signals are vital components in most biological communication systems, e. g. vowels and voiced consonants in human speech. The main reason may be that these signals are easily produced by various types of acoustic sources. Such periodic signals are composed of harmonics, i.e. the frequencies are multiples of the fundamental frequency.
