Abstract
This is a well-organized, modest volume, very well put together by the publisher and a worth while addition to a rather crowded field. The almost irresistible urge of teaching neurologists to present their methods and the distillation of their experience in the clinic is happily matched by a steady market for their works. Students and practitioners of other disciplines seem eager to grasp a new opportunity to supplement their limited experience in neurologic examination. Many works are already available, but a new guide is welcome when it presents, as does this volume, a combination of the necessary cookbookery with clear trenchant writing and the unequivocal commitment of a mature neurologist. The book is of limited value to the specialist or other than beginning residents in neurology, but they will find it a pleasure to peruse and worthy of recommendation to students.
