Abstract

The supportive care of brain tumor patients includes the treatment of brain edema, seizures, and cognitive dysfunction. Each of these complications may occur in patients with either primary or metastatic brain tumors. The development of any of these complications significantly increases the morbidity and mortality associated with brain tumors. However, effective treatment is usually possible and can result in an improved quality of life for these patients.
