Abstract

Neurologic complications of systemic cancer often represent neurologic emergencies. Nonneoplastic neurologic complications are common in cancer patients. Even the treatment of cancer often causes neurotoxicities. Nurses working in critical areas frequently care for these patients. Early diagnosis and treatment improves the patient's outcome in most cases. It is imperative that nurses recognize the signs and symptoms of neurologic complications of systemic cancer.
