Abstract

This review covers publications concerning structural brain imaging in dementia (magnetic resonance imaging) and functional brain imaging in dementia (positron emission tomography, single-photon emission tomography and functional magnetic resonance imaging). What emerges from the literature is the pivotal role that imaging, both structural and functional, currently plays in clinical studies in the field of the dementias.
