Neurobiology of Alzheimer's disease Prof. Uday Chaudhuri In the context of diagnostic validity, biomarkers and etiopathological diagnosis in Psychiatry, 'Neurobiology' is the 'lynchpin'. Neurobiology of Alzheimer's disease can be role model, pathfinder in achieving that 'holy grail' in psychiatry. My presentation will begin with the first case of Alois Alzheimer about 'Auguste D' in 1906, Tubingen, Germany conference. Then neuropathological changes mainly neurofibrilary tangles (NFTS), Neuritic plaques (Amyloid), granulo-vacuolar degeneration and amyloid angiopathy. Then applied aspects of neurobiology in the context of genetic testing, potential biomarkers, applied pointers to future therapy and directions
