Abstract

In this paper, we report on the use of neural net computing in support of more traditional linear adaptive predictive control. The context of this task is “closed-loop drug delivery”. We had learned from previous work how to manipulate controls so as to force the close-loop system to have any specified transfer function. We now consider the task of estimating the values of requisite transfer function parameters given a semi-quantitative specification of the desired temporal response of the controlled system. We show that a neural-net computation approach is feasible and convenient.
