Abstract

Anxiety symptoms and comorbidity are highly prevalent in individuals with major depressive disorder (MDD). Presence of the DSM-5 anxious distress specifier has been associated with a more chronic course of depression and worse treatment outcome. However, not much is known about the neurobiological correlates of anxious distress in MDD.
