Abstract
The physical and performance properties of non-ionics obtained by esterification of maleic anhydride with fatty alcohols and by esterification of maleic acid and fatty alcohol monoesters with glycidol were studied. Cloud point values, surface tension, washing and dishwashing performance, foaming power, foaming stability indices, and anti-greying efficiency were determined. The prepared non-ionic surfactants exhibited comparable and even more useful properties than the commonly used commercial agents.
