Abstract
The trend towards more compact powder detergents puts increasing demands on the detergent builder. The layered disilicate SKS-6 meets these demands, because it combines high performance per unit weight and a high degree of multifunctionality. Detergent formulations can be developed according to the principles of eco-labelling. The effect of detergent usage on the concentration of silicates in surface waters can be assessed by use of model calculations.
