Abstract

Abstract : Transportation is recognized as a critical problem both at the local and the national level. In analyzing the transportation problem and in reviewing the host of relevant research studies that have been conducted in recent years, one begins to comprehend the complexity of entities, variables, parameters, and measurement problems that characterize the field of transportation. While some studies have sacrificed breadth of coverage in favor of a depth of analysis, other studies have attempted to synthesize several methods into a comprehensive examination of transportation problems. Of interest here is a methodology that features both depth and breadth of analysis. (Author)
