Abstract

Little information exists concerning nest sites of red-tailed hawks (Buteo jamaicensis) in western Washington. Numerous studies have been completed elsewhere (see Bent 1937; Ehrlich et al. 1988) and descriptions of nests in eastern Washington are given by Jewett et al. (1953), Knight et al. (1982), and Bechard et al. (1990). I undertook a field study in 1989 to elucidate details concerning nest sites in a semi-forested area in Snohomish County, western Washington.
