Abstract
Identification of New World leafhopper genera of the large subfamily Deltocephalinae is generally based on the comprehensive keys of Linnavuori (1959) for neotropical taxa and Oman (1949) for nearctic taxa north of Mexico. Linnavuori (1959) includes 107 genera, and Oman (1949) includes 142 genera; many genera occur in both faunal regions; however, other described genera are not included in either key. It is necessary to search later publications to determine specimens belonging to related genera which have been described.
