Abstract

This month marks the 10th anniversary of the publication of NeoReviews as an online-only journal. Although six issues were published in print format in 1999 in conjunction with Pediatrics in Review , the birthday of the online-only journal was January 2000, under Drs David Stevenson and Bill Hay, the founding editors. After some early faltering steps, we seem to have hit our stride, providing diverse content that aims to appeal to all who deal with neonatal-perinatal medicine. Since January 2009, we have mapped all articles to the Content Specifications developed by the Sub-board of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine of the American Board of Pediatrics. This task has been undertaken by Dr Henry Lee, who is an assistant editor. We hope that this has helped to stimulate directed learning for those who have documented an area of need. Among the innovations introduced during the past decade was a series of 36 Historical Perspectives, published between 2002 and 2006. These dealt with key concepts that can be considered as the underpinnings of neonatal-perinatal medicine.
