Abstract

ABSTRACT Tracheostomy is an established and widely practiced surgical technique. Neonates and young children represent a special population with unique tracheostomy-related concerns. A tracheostomy may be of substantial benefit to the child but is associated with significant morbidity and potential mortality risk. We describe surgical techniques, review pediatric tracheostomy tubes, and discuss relevant care issues. How to cite this article Stephenson KA, Wyatt ME. Neonatal Tracheostomy.
