Hulsman is the von Oppenheimer scholar in residence at the German Council on Foreign Relations in Berlin and a contributing editor to The National Interest. He was formerly a senior research fellow in international relations at the Heritage Foundation and has taught European security studies at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and world politics and U.S. foreign policy at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland.
