Abstract

Introduction: Secondary aortic prosthesis infection represents a devastating complication to open surgical and endovascular aortic surgery. Curative treatment is only achievable by the removal of all infected prosthetic material followed by a vascular reconstruction. The surgical approaches to this challenging vascular emergency have been much debated, but in line reconstruction with the neo-aorto-iliac system bypass (NAIS) technique has been increasingly used. The main aim was to evaluate outcomes after NAIS procedures for abdominal aortic open or endovascular graft infections in Sweden.
