Abstract

Eleven years ago at a joint meeting of entomologists and nematologists, J. R. Christie discussed research areas of mutual interest to both groups and pointed up the lack of information on insect-nematode parasites (Christie 1960). Since then a considerable amount of research on entomophilic nematodes has been done by both groups; however, some nematode groups have been greatly neglected. An attempt has been made here to bring together the literature concerning the nematodes parasitizing and associated with the insect genus Musca , to inform the entomologists of what is already known, and to point up some of the unsolved problems concerning these associations.
