Abstract

In the Oseen-Frank model, the energy minimizing static configurations of nematic liquid crystals can be described by a map, n: Ω ⊆ R 3 → $2 which is real analytic in Ω away from a relatively closed subset Σ of Ω. Moreover, Σ has Hausdorff dimension strictly less than one, see [HKL] for the details.
