The position of US official policy on the issue of Slovenia's international recognition is particularly emphasized, as well as the reporting of the US press on the policy of the United States of America and the countries of the European Economic Community towards Slovenia. The timeframe covered by the article is from the end of June 1991, when Slovenia (as well as Croatia) declared independence, to the first half of April 1992, when the United States recognized Slovenia as an independent and sovereign state.
