Abstract
Reaction of Ph 3Sn(CH 2) n S(O) m C 6H 4Me- p ( n = 2, 3, or 4; m = 0, 1 or 2) with iodine in CCl 4 result in phenyltin bond cleavage. The relative reactivities indicate intramolecular nucleophilic catalysis by the sulphur-containing substituents.
