Abstract

1. Two cases of long-standing foreign bodies impacted at Cricopharyngeous have been described. Case I presented with respiratory symptoma which is unusual. 2. Both cases were neglected inspite of very strong positive history. The mothers being very intelligent were extremely emphatic about the accident. In cases I, the mother even carried an exact duplicate of the foreign-body. 3. These cases illustrate a certain degree of apathy on the part of clinicians to earry out an endoscopic examination which is the only means of diagnosis and treatment. In case II however, an X-ray would have established the diagnosis since the foreign body was radio-opaque.
