Abstract

In this paper, we demonstrate generation of microwave using single mode Fabry-perot laser diode with negative wavelength detuning. The single input beam is injected to dominant mode and side mode with negative injection locking to generate microwave and simultaneous microwave and millimeter wave with a single beam injection. The differences in injecting input beam on dominant mode and other modes are presented. With this technique, microwave generation from few GHz to THz can be generated. Optical domain results along with the analysis of the effect of input beam power on microwave and millimeter wave generation and frequency hopping is presented.
