Abstract

Noncrystalline alloys ${A}_{x}$${B}_{1\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}x}$ exhibit stiffness thresholds ${x}_{c}$ (transport properties at high P) and x${\ifmmode \tilde{}\else \~{}\fi{}}_{c}$ (other properties at P=0). Differences between ${x}_{c}$, x${\ifmmode \tilde{}\else \~{}\fi{}}_{c}$, and theory are explained microscopically.
