Abstract
The world wide application of fine needle biopsy to evaluate thyroid nodules began in 1930. Tumor seeding along the needle tract is a rare complication of fine needle biopsy for thyroid cancer. Block et al reported a subcutaneous implant of thyroid carcinoma in 1980. Hales and Hsu documented 1 case of needle tract implantation in 1990. We report another case of subcutaneous implantation of papillary thyroid carcinoma after traumatic fine needle biopsy.
