Abstract

A cohort study was conducted in the year 2012-13 among 9007 female sex workers to understand the gaps among services uptake by young sex workers through HIV prevention projects. The Targeted Intervention project catered services for 9007 sex workers in one year (12 months). Out of 9007 sex workers 9% (815) of the Sex Workers catered services between the age group of 16-24 (young). Data was collected through the instrument developed for the purpose. 54% of Young female sex workers never tested which is highest among all the age group. (33%) of female sex workers never visited for clinic as regular Sexually Transmitted Infection check up. It helps program planners regarding importance of having a special studies to understand needs of Young Sex worker in order to increase the accessibility of HIV/AIDS services.
