Abstract

With the introduction of several new biologic therapies for paediatric asthma, the concept of disease remission has been brought to the forefront. Although sometimes paediatric asthma appears to resolve over time, we do not have a mutually agreeable definition of remission among asthma experts. The US National Cancer Institute (NCI) states that the definition of remission is “a decrease in or disappearance of signs and symptoms of cancer. In partial remission, some, but not all, signs and symptoms of cancer have disappeared.
