Abstract

The ‘Educational Needs’ of Chilean students are governed by a legal regulation, which is Decree No. 170 (2009), indicating who are the beneficiaries of a special subsidy according to some medical diagnosis affecting educational processes, stigmatizing them throught a ‘special’ condition. The objective of this Critical Essay is to reflecto n the possibility of updating public policies associated with educational and human needs to understand the importance of the approach given by authentic educational inclusion and social justice in contemporary societies through an updated bibliographic review. Human, educational, social or political needs must be addressed from a visión of authentic inclusion, wich values the inherent diversity of the human being, beyond a clinical diagnosis, incorporating into public policies an economic paradigm that enhances sustainable development (both human and ecological), contributing to human wealth and well-being, rather tan unnecesarry material consumption given by modern societies and education policies.
