Abstract

ABSTRACT DURING 1976 and 1977, an on-farm survey was made to determine the amount of gasoline and diesel fuel consumed when performing the various operations of production agriculture in Nebraska. Nearly one million liters of diesel fuel and 240,000 liters of gasoline were used in the survey. On an equivalent energy basis, diesel fuel supplied 4.5 times more energy than gasoline.
