Abstract

Some features of the propagation and reflection of acoustic waves in the XY plane of a paratellurite crystal have been studied. It is established that the acoustic waves exhibit an unusual backward reflection from the side crystal facet in the case of glancing incidence onto the crystal-vacuum interface. The experimental results are in good agreement with theoretical predictions.
