Abstract

Near-threshold electron scattering by the Ta, W, Re, Mo, Tc and Rh atoms is explored through the elastic cross sections calculated using the recent complex angular momentum method [1]. Electron affinities (EAs) are extracted and the Ramsauer-Townsend (R-T) minima are identified for each atom. Implications for the new large EAs are discussed.
