Abstract

The primary purpose of this study was to determine whether a large occlusal vertical dimension increase could be restored immediately with new complete dentures. The increase was recorded with cephalograms and was measured. After a six-month period, a third cephalogram was made to record any change of the occlusal vertical dimension. No destruction of tissue was in evidence by this immediate occlusal vertical dimension increase, and subject acceptance was good.
