Abstract
Near-noraml reflectance spectra of CeO 2 and Ce x La 1- x Al 2 alloy system were measured at photon energies from 90 to 140 eV. The results were compared with the photoyield data on Ce x La 1- x Cu 6 alloy system paying attention to the chemical shifts of the 4 d -4 f multiplet components. It was found that the rigid wavefunction model is not consistent with the concentration dependence of the chemical shifts.
