Abstract
We report broad continuum generation in GeO2-doped silica fibers induced by femtosecond and picosecond pulses generated by novel high-power laser sources. Over 0.5 W of average power in a broad-band picosecond continuum is generated in the near-infrared part of the spectrum from 800 to 1500 nm.
