Abstract

We report the results of numerical calculations of acoustic waves that are generated when the tire tread hits the road surface. The tread blocks are modeled by parallelepipeds and their compression and expansion is modeled by the motion of the cavity walls in accordance with a specified law. The acoustic perturbations generated by this process are investigated on the basis of the complete nonlinear Euler equations using the Godunov method. A parametric analysis of the model is carried out.
