Abstract

The polarized far i.r. reflectivity and the near i.r. transmission spectra of hexagonal and tetragonal LiIO 3 crystals have been measured. From this study, connected with a group theoretical analysis, all the i.r. active external modes of the hexagonal crystal are identified. The influence of the two forms is observed on the internal modes of the free IO 3 - ion. Nous avons mesuréles spectres par réflexion en infrarouge lointain et par transmission en infrarouge proche de l'iodate de lithium hexagonal et quadratique. En relation avec la théorie des groupes tous les modes externes de l'iodate de lithium sont identifiés. L'influence des deux structures cristallines sur les vibrations internes de l'ion IO 3 - est envisagée.
