Abstract
This work evaluated the performance of the seven fire risk index (Formula Monte Alegre (FMA) and Monte Alegre Modified (FMA+), Nesterov, Telitsyn, Angstrom, EVAP/P and EVAP-P) In a Cerrado-Amazonia transition area, by the Skill Score method, using data from the Gleba Celeste station of the Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia (INMET), and data fire foci from the Centro de Previsao do Tempo e Estudos Climaticos (CPTEC). The use of the probability histogram showed potential for the definition of fire risk classes for the Angstrom, P-EVAP and EVAP / P indices. The Angstrom index showed good performances in years with high and low number of fire foci (Skill Score of 0.698 and 0.301). The classification of the indexes in the region of use makes it possible to improve the planning of actions to prevent and combat forest fires.
