Abstract

This article is part of the project “The network of mental health within the PETMental Health USP: Challenges in building healthcare practices and education to work as a team”,developed in the context of the Labor Education Program for Health (PET - Mental Health) 2011-2012. Its aim was to know the therapeutic itineraries of people suffering from severe mental illness,assisted by mental health actions on primary health care settings. As secondary goals: to know thepath of patients in their search from help to their mental health needs, the therapeutic offers givenfrom the facilities and their opinion about theses offers. The research was qualitative and was carriedout from June 2011 to June 2012. It was concluded that research participants are presented aspeople with major health problems both physical and mental that has the only reference in UBScare, being accompanied by the work of teams of the Family Health Strategy. The network ofservices available is scarce, besides being poor in resources and offers services far between whichprevents user access.
