Abstract
It is important in practices and engineering applications to study the post-processor of 5-axis milling machines with non-orthogonal structure. A special type of 5-axis milling machines was studied in this paper, in which the axis of the rotary table is fixed at 45° to the spindle. Based on analysis of its structure and kinemics, the post processing algorithms were deduced in detail, including calculation of the table rotary angle and the motion coordinates of the spindle. The post processing algorithms provide the mathematic foundation for development of the CAD/CAM soft ware.
