We are particularly interested in decentralized activism. Nazra projects include defending women’s human rights, combating sexual violence in male-structured spaces, supporting young women who enter formal politics, and making public spaces where women of different ideologies are safe. Nazra activists produce research and documentation and encourage women to write their stories in their voices. Nazra includes approximately thirty staff and volunteers. Many Nazra projects engage young people on the feminist question, which we believe is highly important, through art, storytelling, interactive theater, comics, and other media. We currently work in various Egyptian governorates with more than fifteen groups of young women and men who set the agenda according to their own challenges and priorities.The feminist question is always problematic in patriarchal societies....
