Abstract

This research explores the evolving role of social media in contemporary recruitment, focusing on emerging trends, success factors, and potential pitfalls. As organisations increasingly turn to social media platforms for talent acquisition, our comprehensive literature review analyses shifts in candidate behaviour, platform preferences, and technological advancements. The study identifies critical success factors, such as employer branding, engagement strategies, and data analytics, essential for effective social media recruitment. Additionally, we scrutinise potential drawbacks, including privacy concerns and online reputation management. Our findings highlight the transformative impact of social media on recruitment processes, emphasising the need for organisations to adapt and optimise their strategies. The research contributes academically and practically, offering insights for recruiters, HR professionals, and organisational leaders seeking to leverage social media strategically in talent acquisition.
