Abstract

AbstractThe use of plants of the genus Agave by the Navajos was of limited importance economically because of the restricted distribution of these plants within the Navajo range, but the Navajo agave complex shows some time depth and includes some traits not reported for other tribes. In spite of being a well defined set of traits, there are significant differences between the usual practices of the western Navajos and those in the southeast.
