Abstract

“Heart” is one of the most common words, which often appears in the writings of St. Basil of Caesarea. In his point of view, the heart is the main organ of the human being. It constitutes the centre of emotions and physical strength of life. It is also a symbol of a person’s entire internal life. The fullness of spiritual life, which encompasses the whole human being with his thoughts, words and actions is found in the heart. According to the teaching of St. Basil, God enters in a spiritual relationship with man through the heart.
