Abstract
The stochastic development of broadly neutralizing antibodies (bnAbs) to HIV-1 is influenced by complex viral and host interactions. In this issue of Cell Host & Microbe, Townsley etal. reveal that early B cell and virus interactions during acute infection are predictive for developing bnAb responses later in infection.
