Abstract

In previous 29Si NMR basal–plane field rotation measurements, a weak component of two-fold broadening has been identified in the hidden–order (HO) state of URu2Si2. In addition, it has been revealed that the amplitude of two-fold ordering is distributed, a possible connection with imperfections in the single–crystal specimen used. In the present report, possible mechanisms for distributed two-fold ordering are discussed. As candidates, the effects of imperfections on the dotriacontapolar and hexadecapolar ordered states are considered.
