Abstract
Protein Recycling In article number 2104581, Sebastian Josef Maerkl, Francesco Stellacci, and co-workers introduce an idealized representation of nature-inspired circular-economy recycling (NaCRe) for proteins, a recycling approach where generic mixtures of protein-based materials are depolymerized into their constituent amino acids, which in turn are used as the only source of monomers to produce new protein-based materials that are unrelated to the parent ones, outside living organisms.
