Abstract
Against Arendt’s view that Aristotle has a technē model of political community, one that leads to an Arendtian division of zōē from bios, I argue that Arendt’s conception of action is a better model of the formation of the polis in Aristotle that avoids this division and its exclusionary consequences where action is viewed analogously to physis against the view that Arendt’s praxis is a critique of Aristotle’s praxis.
