Abstract
Duckweed-based pond systems can provide a tool for transforming nutrients contained in wastewater into valuable feed for fish, poultry or livestock. Integrating wastewater treatment and agriculture can bring about economic benefits such as partial cost recovery or even entire cost recovery and the generation of profit. Such an incentive can be exploited for encouraging the proper implementation, operation and sustaining of wastewater treatment systems in the developing world.
